Assimilation - Forest in Forest
2021년 독일 작센 주의 UNESCO Geopark Faltenbogen을 위한 방문자센터 및 전시공간 건립을 위해 진행된 공개공모전에 출품한 작품입니다. 프로젝트 부지는 Muskauer Park 내 주요시설 중 하나인 Kavalierhaus의 내부 공간과 후면 야외 숲 공간으로 주어졌습니다. 19세기 Pückler에 의해 도시공원으로서 조성된 Muskauer Park는 Bad Muskau 마을의 주요 도시공간들과 시각적 그리고 물리적으로 긴밀한 관계를 형성하고 있으며, 이러한 도시공간적 관계 설정은 본 부지 Kavalierhaus까지 이어지고 있습니다. 이어서 후면 숲 공간은 공원을 배회하다 마주치는 숨겨진 공간으로 드러납니다. 이러한 도시공간적 가치를 본 방문자 센터 안으로 자연스럽게 연결하는 것을 설계 안의 주요 목표로 설정하였습니다.

둘러싸고 있는 숲에서부터 다양한 열주공간들이 형성되어 내부 수 공간까지 확장되는 건축공간개념을 통해 새로운 도시공간으로 구체화되었습니다: 둘러싼 숲 – 회랑 – 온실공간 – 파빌리온 – 수공간. 방문자들은 다양한 열주 숲 공간 속에서 배회하며, 주어진 다양한 전시를 관람하고, 야외 수공간에서 휴식을 취할 수 있습니다.
This work was submitted to the architectural competition for the construction of a visitor center and exhibition space for UNESCO Geopark Faltenbogen in Saxony, Germany in 2021. The project site was given to the interior space of the Kavalierhaus, one of the major facilities in Muskauer Park, and the outdoor forest space in the rear. Created as an urban park by Pückler in the 19th century, Muskauer Park has a close relation visually and physically with the major urban spaces of Bad Muskau, and this urban spatial relation continues to the Kavalierhaus. The rear forest space is then revealed as a hidden space encountered while wandering the park. Naturally connecting these urban spatial qualities into this visitor center was set as the main objective of the design.
Assimilation.
This is embodied through the concept of architectural space in which various column spaces are formed morphologically from the surrounding forest and extend to the inner exterior aqua space: the surrounding forest - colonnade – plant Exhibition hall - pavilion - aqua space. Visitors can wander in the various morphological transformations of forest, view the various exhibits given, and relax in the exterior aqua spaces.
