기반의&nbsp;스튜디오입니다. 보비스투는 사회적 맥락의 '장소 감각'를 제안합니다. 이전에는 접할 수 없었던 시간베이스 공간 경험을 기획합니다. 보비스투(Wo bist du?)는 “너는 어디에 있니?” 라는 의문사가 들어간 독일어로, 영어로 번역하면 Where are you?에 가깝지만, 좀더 관용적인 의미의 타자의 위치, 지위, 상태를 묻는 의미를 지닙니다. 보비스투라는 관용적 의문사를 사용하여, 현재 우리가 살고있는 동시대에 나와 타자의 위치를 탐색하고, 나아가서는 미래적 위치, 또는 가상 영역에서의 위치와 상태에 대해 질문합니다. 보비스투는 문자 그대로 물리적인 나의 위치를 질문하는 동시에, 중력을 넘어 비물질의 세계에서 내가 존재하고 싶은 자리, 공간성에 대해 탐구하고 있습니다. 가상공간기획, 아트 이벤트, 디지털 기술융합 건축컨텐츠 개발을 통해 실험적인 시공간 확장 체험을 구성합니다. 디지털 미디어와 가상공간, AI, 예술-건축 융합은, 독일 바우하우스 지원으로 제작된 건축전시인 ‘루프트라움#1’(OMA, Weimar, 2016)으로 시작되었습니다. 그렇게 독일 칼스루에, 베를린, 드레스덴, 바이마르, 라이프치히에서의 건축 및 미디어아트 전시에 참여하였고, 2021년 경에 한국으로 들어와 주누와나(junuwana)에서 보비스투(wobistdu)로 이름을 바꾸면서 적극적인 기획 및 가상건축활동을 시작하였습니다. 2021년 말에는 포르쉐 글로벌과 베를린 쾨닉 갤러리의 지원으로 타임스퀘어 뉴욕을 포함한 5개도시의 아코닉 OOH에서 스크리닝을 가졌으며, 2022년에는 쾨닉갤러리 NFT연장계약을 하였고, BY INSTALLING THE VALUABLE DESIGNS OF TALENTED ARCHITECTS INTO DIGITAL-MEDIA ART ANDINSTALLING THEM IN A VIRTUAL SPACE, THE PHYSICAL AND ECONOMIC LIMITATIONS OF ARCHITECTURECAN BE OVERCOME, AND THE AUDIENCE CAN ACTUALLY OWN (NFT, klipdrops.com). “여기가 아닌 다른 곳에 있다” 오정은(미술비평) 환경에 종속적인 대상이자 물리적 실체인 건축이 다른 시공간의 세계에서 구축된다는 것은 어떤 의미를 지닐까? 팬데믹이 가속시킨 실재와 가상 간의 기술 호환은 인간과 그들의 거주지에 관한 철학적 질문의 수위를 점차 높여왔다. 우리는 질병과 환경 파괴로 도시가 위협받는 현실을 체감했고, 자신의 집에 머물면서 ‘언택트’로 연결된 관계를 경험했다. 인파가 몰리는 골목, 노후한 설비 구역 등 각종 재난의 위기가 감지되는 장소에 있어 디지털 기술 시스템의 동작이 적시에 필요함을 깨달았다. 낭만적인 상상과 생활 편의를 위한 진일보가 아니라, 생존과 직결된 숙명의 과제로서 우리는 여기가 아닌 다른 곳을 대안으로 생각한다. ‘당신은 어디에 있습니까? Wo bist du?’ 독어의 질문형 문장을 그 제목으로 하는 전시, 보비스투(WOBISTDU)가 있다. 보비스투 스튜디오가 기획한 프로젝트로, 6명의 건축가(KLEE &amp; YAHN, 김남훈, 박효선, 윤산, 이세진, 최태주)가 설계한 건축물이 6개의 가상공간에 구현된 ‘가상 건축(virtual arhitecture)’ 전시다. 건축가의 에스키스, 건축물 모형과 설계도를 아카이브·나열하여 보여주는 것이 지금까지의 대다수 건축전시였던 반면, 이들은 국제 건축 공모전에서 당선되지 못한 설계도를 가상 시공간에 실현하는 미디어 전시를 기획했다. 건축의 특성상 단 하나의 아이디어만이 실제 건축물로 구현되기 때문에, 수많은 우수 아이디어가 세상에 드러나지 못하고 철 지난 컴퓨터 폴더 안에 묻힐 가능성이 높다. 보비스투 스튜디오는 건축의 이 같은 한계를 가상의 경험(Virtual Reality)으로 대체하고자 했다. 이들은 임시적인 파빌리온이 아니라 임의적인 시각 경험이다. 이것은 관람객의 즉물적 몸이 아니라 사이트(wobistdustudio.com) 접속자의 의식적 행위 경로를 통해 작품의 의미를 맺는다. 또한 이들은 NFT 화폐시장을 통해 교환 가능한 비물질로도 치환되며, 이를 통해 공공건축에 관한 초기의 아이디어는 매체 및 용도 변경을 거듭해 개인 소유물이라는 사적 재산의 경로로까지 이행되게 된다. 보비스투는 완성되지 못한 건축가의 욕망과 실재계의 한계를 이종의 시공간에서 실현하며, 영상 미디어의 언어로 다루어진 건축의 질량과 질감으로 새로운 기술적·장르적 시도를 더하고, 종래의 문법에서 벗어난 전시로 하여금 획득된 관람객 신체의 유동성과 자유를 통해 예술의 영역을 확장하는 움직임을 추구하고 있다. 그것은 예술은 물론 동시대가 앞으로 나아가는 데 필요한 동력이 아닐 수 없다. 여기가 아닌 다른 시공의 언어와 기술을 빌려 지금의 제약을 극복해야 하는 아포칼립스의 노출된 증후를 시대가 부정할 수 없기 때문이다. 위치 감각의 혼선과 혼란을 감수하고 우리는 이미 지면에서 발을 뗐다. 따라서 보비스투에 전시되고 있는 가상 건축의 원본 지역을 찾는 것은 무의미하다. KLEE &amp; YAHN가 &lt;Assimilation&gt;에서 독일 작센주의 유네스코 Geopark Faltenbogen를, 윤산이 &lt;비질란테 드라이브&gt;에서 미국 미네아폴리스에 있는 자동차 갱생소를, 김남훈이 &lt;Bridges between Archipelago&gt;에서 청계천의 청계천변을 건축 설계의 원래 대상지로 의도했음을 밝히고 있지만, 이들 장소의 원본성은 가상세계인 보비스투에서는 삭제되거나 변형된 정보에 불과하다. 르 코르뷔지가 설계한 카펜터 센터를 재해석한 박효선의 &lt;Taxidermy&gt;에서도 원본은 항구적인 성격의 것이 아니다. 보비스투는 이세진의 &lt;정랑장&gt;, 최태주의 &lt;Floating Island&gt;처럼, 건축의 실사 형태를 유지하면서도 중력과 인간 신체의 한계를 넘어 공간 전체를 조망하고, 경계선을 투과해 반대편으로 통과해 넘어가는 카메라 무빙으로 원본 세계의 이치 및 규율에 파열을 낸다. 우리는 좌표와 무게 없이 스크린에 투영되는 세계의 가상성을 건축의 실재에 결합하고, 일부 탈각된 채 서로 조우하여 만나는 그들의 아우라를 몰입하여 감상하며 소장하고 가치화하는 입장에 있다. 그리고 이것은 동시대의 기술과 건축과 예술을 묘사하고 증언하는 일의 단적인 경험 표본이 될 것이다. 이는 어제와 같은 경험이 아니다. 우리는 이미 그 같은 세계의 지형에 초석을 세우고 자취를 남겨가고 있다.
