건축가 박효선은 컴퓨테이셔널 디자인(Computational Design)과 디지털 패브리케이션(Digital Fabrication)에 관심을 두고, 현재 유럽에서 다양한 스케일의 건축 프로젝트를 수행하고 있으며, 미국의 사이악(Southern California Institute of Architecture)에서 건축을 전공하였다.

Taxidermy
모든 건축은 박제의 한 형태로 생각할 수 있습니다. 시간을 정지시키고, 물리적으로 죽어있는 상태의 물질을 공간적 연출과 사용자를 통해 살아있는 것 처럼 보이게도 합니다. 이 프로젝트는 박제술을 건축적 방법으로 사용하였으며, 케임브리지 하버드 대학교 캠퍼스의 르 코르뷔지에가 디자인한 카펜터 센터를 복제하였습니다. 박제의 방법과 미학적인 불안정한 구성을 통해 사색을 제안합니다. 해당 프로젝트는 카펜트 센터와 동일한 면적과 높이를 가지면서 재해석 되었습니다.
| All architecture can be thought of as a form of taxidermy, An attempt to freeze time and make something dead look like it is alive. This project uses taxidermy as an architectural method. The site is right next to the Carpenter Center designed by Le Corbusier in Harvard University Campus, Cambridge. This artwork proposes to conduct an extensive speculation in the taxidermy logic and construction of aesthetic instability. The building has the same amount of footage and the same height as the Carpenter Center. |
