건축가 김남훈은 새롭게 만들어지는 것과 현존하고 있는 것 사이의 관계성을 드러내는 작업을 하고자 시도해왔다. 현존하는 환경에 대한 섬세한 분석과 건축가의 자의성이 겹쳐지거나 어긋나는 부분에서 우리는 새로운 가능성을 볼 수 있다. 대표작 "Bridge between Archipelago" 는 청계천과 평화시장이라는 현존하는 환경을 분리된 섬으로 인식하고 다리를 놓는 상상을 보여주는 작품이다.

Bridges between Archipelago
청계천은 서울의 급격한 변화를 몸소 체험하던 공간이었습니다. 8차선 도로가 청계천으로 복원된지 15년이 흐른 뒤 어떤 미래를 바라보아야 할까요. 청계 5가 4거리부터 청계 7가 사거리까지 1.2km에 이르는 청계천변은 현재 대형 의류 상가들이 섬처럼 위치하고 있습니다. 과거에 있던 고가도로의 존재를 되살리되 새롭게 재해석 한 다리는 섬들을 잇는 건축적 공간이 됩니다. 청계천을 걷는 시민들에게는 이벤트와 일상의 휴게공간을 제공하며, 의류상가에서는 상설 전시 및 패션쇼가 열리며 기존의 상점들과 연계하게 됩니다. 서로 다른 두 영역을 잇는 플랫폼은 운동성을 갖는 형태로 디자인 되어 두 공간의 경험이 섞여 다채로운 장소로 변모할 수 있습니다.

Cheonggyecheon represents rapid changes in Seoul. What kind of future should we look at 15 years after the eight-lane road was restored to Cheonggyecheon? This Stream, which stretches 1.2 km from Cheonggye 5-ga to Cheonggye 7-ga Intersection, is currently located like an island. The bridge, which revived the existence of the old overpass, becomes an architectural space connecting the islands. Citizens walking through Cheonggyecheon Stream will be provided with events and daily rest areas, and permanent exhibitions and fashion shows will be held at clothing stores to connect with existing stores. The platform that connects two different areas is designed to be motivating, allowing the experience of the two spaces to blend into a variety of places. |
